Got my DNA results back..

My wife bought me a Ancestry DNA kit for Christmas. Just got the results back today.

It would appear I am 100% Human. Sad...I was hoping for a bit of alien blood.

On the other hand...I am it would appear

66% English
22% Irish/Scotch/Welsh
8% Scandinavian
1% Northern Europe
Less Than 1% Finnish
Less Than 1% Western Europe
Less than 1% Iberian Peninsula

Given the high English content, I feel I should buy a Vox Amplifier.

Actually...It's quite interesting...I think I may sign up for a Ancestry account and dig a bit deeper. According to the website there are over 1000 members I share the same strain of dna with.

Is it like $99 ? I'd love it if I had some African since my father was such a ridiculous **** racist.  But I really want to know if I'm going to develop dementia or what not.  According to some genealogy done by some family members my mother's side came from England. And my father's side came from Germany. But I understand the mutt concept. We're all mutts. I'm glad for that.

My wife bought my kit on sale for $79. I think it's regularly $99.

I don't know a lot about my ancestry, other than my Dad's folks came to Canada from Poland sometime in the 1930's.

Mom's side is mostly German, as far as I know. She grew up speaking German, but they stopped speaking it during the war. German speaking peoples weren't too popular back then, I guess. :(

You've kinda got me thinking about getting something like this done....

It's interesting stuff Dinks. All the DNA stuff tells you where your DNA comes from...All the other stuff you, who your forebears were you have to dig up yourself. I have a pretty well documented family history on my father's side, not as extensive on my mother's side.

I personally don't know a lot about my family history, but I'm pretty sure that cousins on both sides of my family have researched it.

I should try and get in touch with them sometime.
